The CMF Phone 1 performs similarly to Nothing Phone 2a in processing regards. The GPU performance is also similar to Nothing Phone 2a. It runs games without any issue and there is no issue of thermal throttling. The liquid cooling system with heat pipe and graphite sheet on the front and back handles heat properly. On an average games run without any hiccups, only the graphics and processing-intensive “Genshin Impact” struggle at higher settings.
OS and Software
The CMF Phone 1 runs Nothing OS 2.6 on top of Android 14. Nothing has promised 2 major Android upgrades, which makes this device future-proof. The CMF Phone 1 is simple and offers a clutter-free experience with minimal bloatware. The Nothing OS customizations are not infinite like MiUI but the clean interface is much more straightforward. Camera Performance
The CMF Phone 1 consists of a triple-camera setup with a 64MP main lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. In daylight, the main lens camera captures sharp, vivid colored images with good dynamic range. The ultra-wide lens performs sufficiently, with some softness around the edges. Night-light photography is decent with good contrast, colors, and proper details. The camera struggles to show details in dark zones. The 16MP front-facing camera takes vibrant selfies, with natural skin tones, but hits and misses the sharpness and details of facial tones.
The CMF Phone 1 captures decent videos with natural colors and a wide dynamic range. There is some noise and less detail, it would be better if less noise is present. Lack of OIS was felt in videos, there was some stabilization in the camera due to EIS but didn’t work out that much.
Night videos captured from the main camera looked decent. There was some noise, and the light source was flaring. However, there is also plenty of detail, even in darker areas of the frame.
Battery Life
The CMF Phone 1 lasts a full day on normal use thanks to its 5000 mAh battery. The 33W fast charging goes 0 to 50% in around 30 minutes, though 100% charge is done nearly an hour. The phone provides all-day battery life, making it ideal for users seeking a device with robust battery performance.
