So this is Nothing Phone 2a which is the third new phone from Nothing brand. and it has been launched on March 12, 2024. Now there is a lot of hype about Nothing Phone 2a everywhere. So I also bought this phone with my own money just so that I can check its reality whether Nothing Phone 2a is really as everyone is shouting about it.
So let’s find out. In the box apart from the phone, you only get a Type C to Type C data cable and a SIM ejector pin. You don’t find any charger, case etc. in the box. One thing I like is that Nothing has already applied a plastic screen protector on it, so it is not like you have to put a screen protector on it.
However, I have noticed some negatives in this phone, which I will tell you about later in this blog, but first let’s look at the other things. Now the variant that I have ordered is the one with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, whose pricing is ₹26000 on Flipkart and if we use card then we get 1000 rupes discount which is less than the flip card.
Now, according to the hype that the Nothing brand has created, this is the first affordable phone from Nothing, which is available for the first time.
It has been launched at such a low price but still, we have to see whether we are getting the full value of the price we are paying or we are being robbed just because of this glyph light. So first of all let’s talk about its build quality. If you see it from the back side, you will feel that it is a glass back whereas the whole phone is plastic built.
The transparent back panel that you see from the back is also made of plastic and its frames etc. are all made of plastic. The buttons given have a matte finish but they are also made of plastic. Looks wise no doubt the phone looks good but on the back side if I press this plastic then you will be able to see that this plastic is pressing downwards but since it is plastic then there is no risk of it breaking. but there is also a Disadvantage of plastic and that is if you do not use a good quality cover on it then there are chances of scratches on it.
Chances are There are the rest of the design wise this phone is very beautiful On the bottom side of this phone you get a Type C port, speaker grill, a microphone and a SIM card slot in which you can insert only two SIM cards. You cannot insert an SD card separately.
On the right side you get the power button and on the left side you get the volume buttons On the top. there is a secondary mic which is used for noise cancellation.
Now coming to the front side of the phone, on the front you get a 6.67 inch Full HD Plus AMOLED display with a punch hole design which comes with a 120 Hz refresh rate.
its peak brightness goes up to 1300 nits and one thing you will notice is that the bezels of the display are equal from all four sides as you get to see in iPhone etc.
Apart from this, you also get an in-display fingerprint sensor in this display. By the way, this display also supports wide angle lens, which means that if you have a display of Netflix, then the phone is a bit bigger.
You will feel a little problem in using it with one hand. Apart from this, the in-hand feel of the phone is good. Its corners etc. do not stick to the hand. There is one more small drawback in its back panel that fingerprints come a lot on it. So if you have a white color phone, then you will not notice that many fingerprints on it, but if you have a black or any dark color phone, then
fingerprints become easily visible on it. Either you will have to clean it again and again or you will have to use a good case or cover on it.
You get dual stereo speakers in the phone, but you do not get the support of LWE Atmos in this phone. In this phone, you get battery of 5000mAh and the people I know who use this phone have told me that this phones battery lasts very well, which means it gives backup for one to one and a half days even on heavy use.
Apart from this, this phone supports 45 watt charging, but charger is not provided in the box. I had already told you this, you will have to buy the charger separately. If we talk about connectivity, then 4G and 5G signals also work very well in this. I have tested it at different places in my house because the signals are a little low in my house, so even in that condition, I did not see any connectivity issue in this phone. You also get support for AAC in this phone. If we talk about its software version, then this phone comes out of the box with A14 and N.
